David Garro Landscapes is a residential landscape construction business based in Melbourne.

The business specialises in building well-planned outdoor spaces where multiple landscape elements come together as a cohesive project. Many of the landscapes we construct include combinations of paving, pool coping, retaining walls, fencing, planting, irrigation, and lighting.

Paving and pool surrounds form the foundation of many of the landscapes we build, often setting the structure for the rest of the outdoor space. From there, additional elements are carefully integrated to create outdoor environments that are both functional and visually balanced.

Our projects range from focused paving and pool surround installations through to complete landscape builds, allowing homeowners to work with a single contractor throughout the project.

David Garro founded David Garro Landscapes in 2017 after several years working in the paving and landscape industry.

David first began working in the paving and landscape supply industry in 2012 while completing a Bachelor of Engineering. This experience provided a strong understanding of stone, paving, and other landscape materials, as well as how they perform in real construction environments.

After moving into landscape construction and completing his landscaping apprenticeship, David established David Garro Landscapes with a focus on delivering well-planned outdoor spaces built with careful preparation and attention to detail.

David remains closely involved in the construction of each project and is typically on site most days to oversee progress, assist with set-out, and ensure the work continues to meet the expected standard. This also allows clients to discuss questions or decisions directly as the project progresses.

Although construction work can be disruptive, we aim to keep sites organised and maintain a clean working environment wherever possible. At the end of the day, every project takes place at someone’s home, not a building site.

OUR PROCESS

1. Initial Enquiry

Projects typically begin with a phone call, email enquiry, or referral. During this stage we discuss the client’s ideas, the scope of the project, and whether any landscape plans already exist.

This initial conversation also helps us understand the likely direction of the project before visiting the site. For example, we may discuss general material preferences such as lighter or darker paving tones so we can prepare relevant samples for the site visit.

2. Site Visit

A site visit allows us to review the property, take measurements, and assess factors such as access, levels, drainage, and site constraints. This also provides an opportunity to discuss layout ideas and how the different elements of the landscape may come together.

Where possible, we bring a small selection of suitable stone or paving samples so clients can see and compare options in person. If a colour direction has already been discussed, we typically bring two or three materials that suit that palette. Where the direction is still open, we bring a small range of light, mid, and darker tones to help narrow down the possibilities.

By limiting the selection to a few well-suited materials, clients can begin making confident decisions without being overwhelmed by too many choices.

3. Planning & Quote

Where required, a simple concept sketch is prepared to confirm the general layout and ensure we are aligned on the scope of works before quoting.

We then prepare a detailed quote outlining the proposed works, materials, and construction stages so clients understand exactly what is included before the project begins.

At this stage we can also discuss the expected construction timeframe, an approximate start window, and whether there is anything the client may need to organise prior to works commencing. Payment terms and the overall structure of the project are also explained so clients know what to expect as the job progresses.

4. Scheduling & Construction

Once the quote is accepted, we schedule the project and confirm timing as construction approaches.

Our team then completes the work from start to finish, with the same crew typically remaining on site throughout the project. David remains closely involved during construction and is on site regularly to oversee progress, assist with set-out, and ensure the project continues to run smoothly.

Clients deal directly with David throughout the project and are welcome to raise questions or concerns at any time. While the on-site team are also approachable and in regular contact with him, clients always have the option to speak directly with David whenever needed.
